Application Forms

Applicants must submit a separate application for each PEP. Applicants who are responding to one of the research projects must apply using the PHS 398 grant application. Applicants who are responding to one of the non-research projects or who have an investigator initiated submission must apply using the PHS 5161 grant application.

Use of the modular budget format is prohibited when submitting any research, non-research or investigator initiated applications to AAMC, ASPH or APTR. All applicants must submit the detailed budget pages. Applications must not exceed the page limitations set forth in the instructions for either the PHS 398 or the PHS 5161.

Deadline

For the 2008 PEP cycle an original and 6 copies of the appropriate application should be submitted to the Association in which your LOI was submitted by 5:00 p.m. ET on March 14, 2008. Applications submitted directly to NIH or CDC will be returned to sender. Funding announcements will be made in September 2008. Funding will begin on September 30, 2008.

Application Review Criterion

Modifications have been made to the research plan portion of both the PHS 398 and the PHS 5161 grant applications. Additional criteria have been spelled out in each individual PEP. These modifications will determine the score that your grant application will receive during the review process. Applicants should carefully review the application review criteria for research and nonresearch submissions prior to preparing a grant application.
